This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks
Artist's Description
The model for this painting is a magnificent Haflinger named Dude ... who happens to be totally blind. He lives at This Old Horse in Hastings, MN, where he has a fan club of sorts. Dude's imperious presence reminded me of the blind Heimdall of Norse mythology, so I chose to paint him as a creature of legend, under the night sky I see in his eyes. His condition has caused the colors to shift so that it looks as if he holds entire galaxies in his mind.
This work is in acrylic paint on canvas, with finished edges and a wire on the back for hanging. Framing (not included) is optional. It is for sale, with half the proceeds going to This Old Horse for the care and feeding of their animals. Contact me if interested.
