This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

Artist's Description
I was a guest in the Governors house on Robben Island soon after returning to South Africa from exile. Painting the flowers that grew in these man-made holes reminded me of our victory and its famous prisoners who have inspired the world. The level and quality of leadership that guided the exiled government ensured that transition to democracy in South Africa was peaceful. My trip here was spiritually rewarding because it provided closure of a chapter. In their bright defiance, the abundance of flowers would not be held hostage by history. Watched over faithfully by Table Mountain across the bay, this little community of exiles waited in silence as their nation burned across the waters.
With conditions ideal for painting, the clear sky and light breeze was welcoming.
Busy foreground with bushes and flowers growing on the edge of the quarry created a contemplative mood.
